Week 57: Another Boring Week

Posted on December 24, 2023December 24, 2023 By Ken Gaughan

What a treat! On Monday, we were given three home-baked peanut butter Christmas cookies with a quarter gallon of chocolate milk. I had quite the sugar fix, but well worth it! The cookies were delicious, and I hadn’t had chocolate milk since well before my “college” experience began.

The week was uneventful. Just another normal week, which was a bit slow due many staff members taking time off for the holidays. Previously, I had mentioned that a new band was beginning with so much talent. After picking out some great songs and a few weeks of practice, our momentum, however, had been hijacked by our drummer leaving the band since he is being released any day. Great news for him, now, we are back to trying find a drummer. Our lead singer does play drums, so he has been attempting to both play and sing, which is incredible
to watch, but his voice isn’t as controlled and strong as if he were just singing. We were supposed to play a Christmas concert, but unfortunately had to cancel. We may try to play for New Year’s Day. I will definitely provide any further updates.
Oh, the duckling is still thriving! The little quacker has grown so much this past week, still about the quarter of a size of a fully grown mallard. The weather has been cold at nights and it snowed Monday. Gradually, it warmed up which does not seem to encroach on the fowling’s survival.

I wish you all wonderful week and safe travels over the weekend to be with family and loved ones. Continue to look for those little miracles 😀
