The first of November hastily arrived with coldness and some snow! The little accumulation was enough to make the barren trees look like dead of winter. The cold weather only lasted for three days, then it was back to unseasonably warmer weather in the 70s and sunny – a solid weekend of pickleball. However with the time change, all pickleball must be played by 5:00 pm since the sky is nearly pitched black.
The weekly routines help the days to pass quickly. A few of us that were left in the band are trying to find another singer and guitar player to start a new band, but so far without any luck⦠These past few short days have been filled with lots of reading. I just finished the decently written Red Sparrow trilogy about Russian/CIA espionage.
When I arrived last year to Morgantown, I shared a holding cell with another white-collar guy. We bonded during our first experience on that first day and I even briefly bunked with him though a random assignment. Now, he
was released back to Columbus, Ohio, and I’m excited for this new beginning in his 60s. He ferociously played pickleball and was purely hilarious. He will certainly be someone that I will keep in touch with!
I wish that I had a bit more to report, but hopefully soon. As always, I am grateful for you taking the time to even read this blog. Continue to be mindful of any of the little miracles in your life!
