Primarily, my week flew by again, which is a blessing in itself. The daily grind of wake, work, and pickleball certainly helps pass the time. On Friday, I was asked to teach a resume and interview class for 100 guys. This class is 4 intensive days versus the 10 weeks of class that I taught in the past. The outcome of the class is to have a resume prepared for a mock job fair at the end of the month. To attend the job fair, a guy must take this intensive class. I am humbled to be asked to teach again, which is in addition to the self-esteem course that I will be teaching next week. All of this helps the time pass by and hopefully supports some of these guys who are going to a half-way house obtain a job!
In more interesting news, Mr. Donald Trump was indicted in DC for January 6, and the randomly assigned judge to the case is none other than…the judge I had: Judge Tanya Chutkan. During my pretrial, she balanced issues appropriately. In her past, she had stern admonishment for J6ers (those individuals who participated in the January 6 debacle). She gave more time than what had been anticipated during their sentencing. I applaud her tenacity, despite having been on the receiving end of her gravel. While I had not anticipated a full sentence like 78 months, I appreciated her decorum that she set for the courtroom. Now, Mr. Trump will be on Lady Justice’s scales of balance in Judge Chutkan’s courtroom.
For me, it’s a fascinating ordeal, but I do not watch the news or any tv but merely rely on articles in the newspaper. Like 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, I have one degree to Mr. Trump through Judge Chutkan…of course nothing to brag about, but merely a fun fact.
I appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to read this short blog, and hope you have a wonderful and blessed week! Continue to be mindful of any little miracles 🙂
